If you read my articles on the health care reforms(several in 2010 if you check the directory on the blog) you will have an idea of what some of these are.
But you also need to review your medical statements carefully, just to make sure that there are no errors. My mother is on Medicare and she has found errors before. In the event of fraud, it should be reported to either Medicare or the insurance company. It is important to note that the AMA and other medical associations actively work to prevent fraud and it is a minority of clinicians who are guilty. There may be more problematic behavior on the medical supply side. As an example, when I had an ACL injury, rather than buying a leg brace from a clinic, I went online, found the company who manufactured them, and ordered it direct, for about 1/3 of the cost.
Hope that helps.healthpolicymavenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13809491580295604800noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3982919082318269632.post-41505450866699972582012-01-03T14:22:44.468-08:002012-01-03T14:22:44.468-08:00Any system that pays based on use and not results ...Any system that pays based on use and not results is bound to be flawed. Out education system ferrets out "underperforming schools" and tries to fix them. The same should be true for healthcare. And like the education system it should be an open process with full disclosure of the good and the bad.

Doctors, clinics and service providers in the medical industry must be held accountable for fraud and I WANT TO KNOW WHO THEY ARE! The secrecy adds to the problem and allows too many of these providers to set up shop elsewhere. If these providers knew that if they got caught they would be scrutinized by their clients as well as the government it would be an additional deterrent.

As a consumer my question is how do we help?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3982919082318269632.post-34916036543274139192011-12-28T19:32:54.495-08:002011-12-28T19:32:54.495-08:00Hi, I came across your site and wasn’t able to get...Hi, I came across your site and wasn’t able to get an email address to contact you.
